We've been having a small login issue. When logging in, the member is sometimes redirected back to the login page. It appears as though he is not logged in, but if he then clicks Forum, he is taken to the Forums page.

So we did a search and found the following thread by Matt Rogowski:

We tried to follow the instructions (third bullet point), but now strange things are happening. We can't log out of the forum properly. When we login, although we can get to the Admin CP main page, if we try to access one of the menu items, "Configuration" for example, it asks us to login again and simply returns to the same Admin login over and over. Therefore, we can reset the settings.

I guess we probably didn't follow the instructions properly, but now we're stumped!!

Your cookie domain is ivcg.org.uk and your cookie path is /?

You can reset the values in the database in mybb_settings.cookiedomain and mybb_settings.cookiepath if you can't do it from the ACP.

I had same problem, I removed all cookies cleared cache went back and it worked. worth a go maybe!

Yes, the cookie domain was wrong.

All working now.

My colleague has since read that original problem we were trying to solve may be a Chrome issue - so all that stress for nothing !!!
