Blegh, I've hit a bit of a bump. I'm casually creating a site for my WoW guild, and have been coming along okay over the past month or so. Nothing is really finalized, and really I'm making it up as I go along and using it as an opportunity to try new ideas. Except, now I'm stuck.
My notification area (you know, with the PM alert, the board closed warning, and so on) doesn't look good at all. It's not that I can't make it look good, it's just I have no inspiration. I've yet to see anything that makes me want to try it. So very few theme previews show the notifications, and in the past I've just not done much with them beyond maybe slapping a fancy background on them. I want to do more than have a colored bar that's just kind of up there.
What I need are examples of what people like. I can take ideas, and mix, match and expand, but I need a starting point.
