What color is best for the background (or for the main theme color)?
from the pure white eyes fatigue
gray - boring color
blue - the cold color (though for some reason it is often used on the forums)
I think the warm shades of colors are best.
It's yellow, brown and green. They create a nice warm and cozy atmosphere.

A light greyish colour.
I like oranges and greens
Sites should use colors that go with the general theme of the site. The favorite color(s) of the admin should not be the priority.
Examples:
A gaming site focused on death and combat could use black and red.
A site focused on children could use primary colors.
A site focused on nature could use softer colors often found in nature.
A site called Tiger Portal could use the colors of a Tiger.
A U.S. patriotic site could use red, white and blue.
lol....tiger colors
Depends on the niche. But i like Blue and Dark ones.
That's a pretty vague question. Nonetheless, blue, green and orange usually go well in any kind of website.
The obvious answer is a bright neon pink!
Really though it depends. If I'm making a site for gamers probably a more dark theme. However if it's for a church it will probably be more bright and maybe have an older look to it.
It's like asking the question "what should I wear today". It depends on who you are and what you are preparing to do.

I personally like blue, but not to dark.
