I am suggesting this be built into the core functionality of mybb. I know there is a mod but it requires easy install mod for it to be installed. Over at VB it's actually a feature. I know because VB has it that mybb doesn't have to but there are a fair amount of paypal subscription questions in the forums. I feel this would greatly enhance the overall scope of mybb if it has paid subscriptions via paypal ipn as a feature. IPN isn't even that difficult to incorporate. You could possibly use the already existing mod as a base.
This is pretty much the one feature I seriously need from mybb. Everything else is fluff but a payment subscription module is the nuts and bolts of the revenue for some of my bigger forums. I use phpbb hacked to hell for now but I am leaning toward a vb upgrade. If mybb had this I would 100% go with mybb.
