Tried to find more detail information on ACP/Configuration/User Registration and Profile Options/Registration Method options.

Couldnt seem to find with Mybb/Wiki search.

Currently have setup for 'Send Email Verification', but also seems to require Admin activation... would like to find out more about how the different registration methods are supposed to work, if possible.

Suggestions ?
if Send Email Verification is set , it doesn't require activation by Admin unless you have a modification for it

Thank you for the followup.
Thats what I thought, and dont have any modification set up, but was wondering if there is a place to get more published detail information about all the registration methods... couldnt find at Mybb/Wiki search, but thought someone in the forum may know of a place.
Thanks again.
Are you asking for an explanation on what each of the activation methods are?

I guess that is part of it, but also a detailed description of how they are supposed to work.
Just would like to make sure things are working the way they are supposed to be for how we have our registration method set up, and/or if we should change it.
Like with 'email verification' we are getting registrations 'awaiting activation' under the SQL Engine/Users category at the ACP/home/dashboard... thought they became 'active' as soon as came back and entered the 'username' and 'activation code'.
Hope that helps.
Thanks again.

Ps: If not available, not big deal, we just are trying to figure out the best/easiest way to limit spam.
So far we have picked 'email verification' along with 'admin approval' of posts... a bit cumbersome, but so far seems best standard way to fight the spam thing.
Would be interesting to know how MyBBs forum does it... it seems to have it pretty well under control.
Instant Activation: As soon as a user registers an account, they can post threads, replies etc without having to verify their email.
Email Activation: When users register an account, they are required to click a link that is sent to their email to verify their email.
Random Password: An email is sent to the users email address with a random password that they use to log in.
Administrator Activation: All users must be activated by an administrator.

When it says awaiting activation in the ACP, it means the user has registered but has not clicked the activation link that they received in the welcome email.

Thanks for the info.
So, just to verify, when potential user gets an 'email verification', they become registered, but need to go to the forum link and enter the 'username' and 'activation code', and then they will go off the 'awaiting activation' under the SQL Engine/Users category at the ACP/home/dashboard and move the the 'Email Activated' group, and become fully registered (activated).
And, if they never 'activate', after some time, we would/could just delete them from the 'Registered Users' list and that would be the end of them ?
Thanks again for the help !
Ps: Is there a thread or wiki data which talks about how MyBB suggests handling spammers (ie how MyBB does it, etc) ?
if awaiting activation users do not visit again to activate then you can delete those users from admin panel .

AND you can see this thread to implement suggestions to combat spam ..
