How do I solve this problem:

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
2002 - Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11)
Query:
[READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server

Contact your host. It's nothing to do with MyBB.

Edit : not seen Malcolm.'s response

is it on localhost (eg. XAMPP) OR on remote host ? if remote host then contact the web host ...

Information: This occurs when your MySQL server is down or experiencing an issue and MyBB cannot connect to it. You will have to contact your host with this error message.
