Content is king. I'm not an expert in internet marketing. If you provide a valued service, the site will grow. Yours looks promising - 7/10.

Your primary use of red (and black) presents a strong tone of aggression, these colors are often used to market to younger males. I suggest using different colors that would broaden your appeal to a larger target population. 3/10

Thank you very much for the feedback, it really is appreciated, it's great to see someone whom actually understands about the benefits of having the keyword in the domain.

I have to to disagree about the theme, but then that's only because I love it so much, I am not disagreeing with you based on your opinion with the mass appealing etc...

Cheers

You're welcome. I know what you mean about liking the look of a site "so much" after creating it. But then when I look at my site later and consider my target market, how it matches or not with the purpose of my site, and what others are more likely to prefer, I'm torn. I'm going to be looking at this site more than most of its members, and so I have to like how it looks. But then I don't want to turn off members with what I prefer. It's a business decision, and making that decision is part of the reward.

I think the problem is I spent about one day trying out every theme under the sun, in the end I decided to go with this one because none floated my boat in the end lol.

I'll see how it goes fingers crossed it will be ok, worse case I can always change up the theme in the future or something.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the theme is bad.

1) It doesn't look modern at all.
2) The on, off icons don't have a meaning towards what they stand for (for example, the off icon doesn't symbolize an empty state). And moreover the offlock is still default and doesn't fit to on and off icons.
3) The attempt for a gloss effect in thead (which i assume) isn't so good.
4) If i design a red theme, i would make the links red too (probably a darker one). But blue (more like violet) doesn't blend in.
5) The buttons looks distorted.

Apart from that, your forum is good. It have a good domain, good category selection and good setup.
Good luck. Smile

Thank you for the feedback buddy, your the second person to mention about the theme now, the problem is I have no way of changing the buttons on the theme as I don't really have the experience, where would I get new buttons from is there an open free source?.

Would you have any theme in mind to suggest to me perhaps, I would be willing to purchase one if needed. I would just need to get some ideas based on which color to use and the style I guess.

I can take criticism as it will only help me out in the long run, I guess the theme does need to be changed up I can see that now, I mean as mentioned your the second person to mention it.

Cheers

For premium themes (paid), try Audentio, Dynaxel, Nanoskineers, etc.
If you are able to spend even more, get a custom theme from above mentioned designers and also Synthd, Dynaxel, etc.

If you need free themes, go through http://mods.mybb.com/themes
Some of the themes i like there (and not much overused) are,
1) http://mods.mybb.com/view/1-company
2) http://mods.mybb.com/view/1blue
3) http://mods.mybb.com/view/8e
4) http://mods.mybb.com/view/mybb-social-theme
5) http://mods.mybb.com/view/mycleanblue

Awesome thank you for the help and links buddy. It's very much appreciated nice one.

I shall look into possibly having a theme developed, or will perhaps use the mentioned themes you have posted, would I lose the ficons I have implemented on the forum if I change the theme.

I think that the SEO keywords and so forth I would need to copy before changing also right?

Cheers

A plugin should make its change in new theme once you disable and re-enable the plugin (note that you should not uninstall the plugin).

Have you added keywords manually or its a plugin? If you added it manually, you will have to do the same to the new theme.

Hi I have added the keywords manually but it's not a problem to re add them if needed, when you say there is a plugin which makes the change, can you let me know what you mean a bit more. Do you have the name of the plugin as well please.

I am still undecided as to which theme to use yet, I may possibly pay someone to develop a custom theme, just trying to work out whom would be the best to use, also how much it would normally cost me etc...

You can get good themes for 40-50+. Try contacting Dynaxel and Synthd.
