ok. what about if i go in side the template folder ? my point is it cant just be there with out any traces like if its on the forum it has to be on the FTP unless you guys are saying that so i dont access it and thats a diffrent story

Admin CP -> Templates -> Modify/Delete -> *YOUR THEME SET* -> Expand -> footer
to edit your copyright.
An easy way to explain the Templates.
The templates are stored inside the MySQL Database, and are called by the MyBB.
You can only edit the templates inside the Admin CP.
When you edit the template, you save it and it will be saved into the database. No templates are stored in the FTP.
