Hi we use version 1.6.3 (1603) just wanted to know a fast way to update it without uploading all the files. any help would be great thanks

1.6.4 doesn't have a changed files package. You have to upload all files.

so no configure files to keep ?

just as a precaution, keep a copy of inc/config.php & inc/settings.php files ... also keep a backup of the database

Forgot to ask we have changed some things on our site doing this wont effect any changes we made will it ?

If you've edited core files obviously uploading all the files again will overwrite your changes. What is it you've actually changed??

If you just edited templates and settings and stuff it'll be fine. Only if you've actually edited files, like inc/class_parser.php they will be deleted.
