I've been trying to figure this out for months, racking my brain and nearing the thoughts of killing myself (just kidding, right there). Anyways, I've almost gotten GoogleSEO working, when I click on my forum links and all that, the URL seems to be right, but, then, a 404 error shows. What I mean is that my links are displaying correctly the GoogleSEO url's (/forum/thread-title-here, etc.), but then a stupid 404 comes up! If it helps any, my webhost is x10hosting.com. I know my functions.php is correct, because my links weren't appearing as (forum/thread-title-here) until I added GoogleSEO's pre-made functions.php.

I sm using MyBB 1.6.3 and this is my .htaccess in my (public_html/) directory (my forum is located at public_html/forum/ though)

# EXAMPLE .htaccess FOR MYBB WITH GOOGLE SEO URL

# -------------------------------------------------------------------

# This file is identical to MyBB's htaccess.txt example file,

# with rewrite rules for a standard Google SEO install added.

#

# Before using this file please make sure to:

#

#   - replace /MyBB/ with your forum folder, e.g. / or /forum/

#   - replace yoursite/MyBB with your forum URL

#   - name the file '.htaccess' (starting with the dot, no .txt)

#

# Alternatively you can add the required rewrite rules to your

# existing .htaccess, the specific rules required will be displayed

# on the plugin status page once Google SEO URL is enabled.

# -------------------------------------------------------------------

x10 hosting might not support it, I'm not sure. Go to your plugins page and see what errors, if any, show on the Google SEO section.

It says that my GoogleSEO url's are working correctly, and says the same for my SEO404, which also doesn't work.
Then contact x10.
I think your problem might be server-sided and I doubt contacting x10hosting will help because it might have been configured that way. You're better off on a commercial host.
They said it will work, that I need to add
RewriteBase /

And I already had that, I tried "RewriteBase /" and "RewriteBase /forum/"

And neither work :/
