I'd like to have a similar feature on my forum, how is this possible.
It doesn't seem doable with the current permission system.

Its all done with forum permissions.
It's not a plugin, it's a core feature.

Checked - Can view forum?
Checked - Can view threads within forum?
Checked - Can only view own threads?
