Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in /home/affectio/public_html/forum/inc/settings.php on line 41

Hi,

When I tried to install MyBB 1.6.5, after submiting my admin information, and after pressing "Next", it shows me the error above.. I've not edited settings.php...

Just to double check is this a fresh clean install of 1.6.5 or an upgrade from another version?

What version of PHP does your host have??

PHP version 5.3.8.

re-install your mybb with frech download
http://www.mybb.com/download/latest

You shouldn't ever need to reinstall MyBB.

The issue is fixed now though, so it doesn't matter.
