Hello

One of our moderators reported this long error when he was trying to ban a username. The error persist even when i deactivate the akismet plugin (i thought that was the problem, thought wrong i guess)


MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1153 - Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

Try doing if you've access to MySQL's my.ini file or ask your host to increase the value of max_allowed_packet from 1M to something bigger.

By default, it is:

max_allowed_packet = 1M

or depending upon your host's specs. Am not sure though if it would work, but prolly it'd.
