It's not a template issue. If you haven't uploaded the files correctly, then MyBB won't perform correctly.
its not the template. the file is not accessible. i highly recommend that you NOT disable reCaptcha to minimize spammer sign ups

It seems that 000webhost - however poor their hosting quality is - does support php_gd.
In this instance it's clear that you haven't uploaded the files correctly.
Reupload MyBB from a fresh package, ensuring all files are being overwritten.
