Well, I decided to try the 1.6.5 upgrade (From 1.6.4) but I cant get into the upgrade script after uploading the changed files...

Check your permissions on the server for the /install directory. The directory should be 755.

The installer is currently locked, please remove 'lock' from the install directory to continue take off the lock

I got it all fixed for him. It was a permissions and htaccess issue.
