How do I make it so that when a user clicks the multiquote image, instead of changing file extension it changes a class or something?

Right now, when you click the multiquote image, the image is changed to another one (from
postbit_multiquote.gif to
postbit_multiquote_on.gif).
How can I edit the javascriopt file and/or templates, in a way that it change a class instead of name. Like:
From this.
<img class="xxx" src="postbit_multiquote.gif" ... />
To:
<img class="yyy" src="postbit_multiquote.gif" ... />

Bump again, I just tried it myself and had no luck
Multi quote seems to have problems, am not sure with this issue but the theme am currently working on uses CSS3 buttons and multi quote doesn't seem to work. So I had to just remove it.
Too bad, as the fast quote plugin stopped working for me as weel
