I don't have a forum yet, I would just like to know if it's possible to upgrade mybb or coppermine without loosing all of the photos uploaded to there & how I do it?? Do I somehow backup all the photos & stuff & restore them afterwards or what??

You just upgrade like you usually would, you won't lose any of the photos.
