HI.
I am trying to import attachments.
The forum I want to import from has the address http://forum.com/uploads. Now the forum I want to import to has the address http://forum.com/test. So To merge the attachments should I give the local path to the uploads folder? If so what must be the general format?
Should it be like /home/user/public_html/uploads ?
Seeing that the new forum is installed in /home/user/public_html/test/ .....
try exact URL , i.e. http://forum.com/uploads
can i copy over the entire uploads folder, the run the merge?
^ yes, you can. you can give the path of new uploads folder to the merge system ..
Ok the import has been done. All the foums and the posts have appeared but when I try to open a thread I get a blank page. The forum url is test.vuaskari.com
UPDATE. When I open ANY Forum Or Thread or post, I get a blank page.
hmm., so it was fine without merging the attachments !! not sure why it happened ..

wait, you have SEO URLs turned ON ; make it automatic detection / disable it for awhile
but i have already merged with the seo on!!!! darn it. What to do now?
^ temporarily disable SEF URLs from admin panel and also rename .htaccess as htaccess.txt ..
Attachments are broken. There is a sticky for them, linked below. It does have a possible solution.
However the merge system will not break your SEF urls. You just need to run the recount & rebuild tools in the ACP!

Yeah the forum merged nicely but the attachments do not appear in the posts. Another thing, where the posts are attached they appear like this [attachment:pid]. Obviously with 13000 attachments I cannot bind them manually. Is there a way that the pid's from the previous forum are the same as the new one?
Hey to give the website the local path, should it be like home/user/forum/uploads?
