Well, I "upgraded" to MyBB from phpBB, and in phpBB you can change thread/post authors. Is there any way to do this in MyBB?

You would have to request a plugin for that You can do so here: http://community.mybb.com/forum-65.html

I do not believe there is already a plugin that will do this.

Alternatively, you can edit their names in username fields of mybb_threads and mybb_posts table of your MyBB sql database.
