Hello,

Right now the Moderators and Super Moderators permissions in the forums are totally uncontrollable, we can't disallow them from deleting threads / sticking/unsticking/Opening/Closing/Moving threads...

For example, one mod on my forums has told me that his password was very weak, I asked him to change it and he said that he did, though I'm not really sure if he did, I can't control that...

So I was like "Okay, if anyone hacks any super mod's account, they will be able to delete ALL the threads", and since I'm doing what many webmasters do, I don't take hourly backups of my database (I'm running my own server, no cPanel);..

So I'm just asking if it could be possible to limit the mods/super mods permissions,

You can't create another additional usergroup and give them limited permissions, because right now, MyBB does the following:
Is that user a moderator??
- Yes: OK, all the permissions to the forums they moderate
- No: No permissions

Is that user a super mod?
- Yes: OK, all the permissions everywhere (except forums they can't access)
- No: No permissions

I suggest you add to Users & Groups, Groups, Mods/Super Mods, Forums and posts:

[These settings only apply to the forums moderated by this user]

[checkbox] Can delete others' threads
[checkbox] Can move others' threads
[checkbox] Can edit others' threads
[checkbox] Can merge others' threads
[checkbox] Can approve/unapprove others' threads
[checkbox] Can open/close others' threads

Good idea for core.

Agreeable, this was debated many times but MyBB still needs to accomplish the detailed moderation control over Mods and Super Mods.

The second plugin is really useful, so sad there was no update since 2010..

Yes.. It should be controllable somehow...

Maybe we can ask them to update these plugins with the features you mentioned.

No, these need to be a core feature not plugins
