I am also having this problem, when i click on any link of my forum it takes me to the following website.

First I thought its a virus uploaded from my system, so I deleted the whole database from my other system, and downloaded the fresh copy of 1.6.5 and uploaded it from the other system, But this is now annoying, check the example of this URL

and it is redirecting to

www. reg-cleaners. com

Are you on 000webhost? They usually redirect 404 pages to advertisers.

You need to rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess
