I am currently using godaddy hosting. I don't like their service, there seems to always be an issue. Can someone recommend some other hosting options. I also want to know if there is a plug-in that will allow my site to run smoother / faster? Thanks

Try Hostgator, excellent customer service and i've had next to no problems since september 2010.
I would recommend SpeedySparrow (speedysparrow.com).
Their hosting is excellent - longest ticket I have had EVER was about 9 hours. Usually around 2 hours until solution. They are very courteous, and are quick to resolve any problems.
They keep all customers very well in the loop in their forums.
The best thing about them though is that you are not customer #1234. You are "Josh" or whatever your name might be. It truly turns into a family-type thing.
They have had some recent downtime issues, but they are resolving them, moving datacenters fairly soon (into Dallax, TX, US).
Their pricing is also great. They offer cPanel for control panel, Softaculous and Installatron for script installations like WP and MyBB, and *yuck* phpBB.
I have heard good things about MDD too. But I never have felt a need to move - downtime or not - they (SpeedySparrow) calm everyone, tell you what is wrong, and give an honest ETA -- what else can you ask for?
