MyBB Community Forums

I'm just curious,since my forums still currently have an older version of mybb3,is it possible that i could have it upgraded to a newer forum version and keep all of our forum posts/threads.We have over 20,000 posts and 500 members and i would like a newer version but i am not willing to lose all our threads and posts as it is for a police clan and we are one of the most known out.

can you recheck your forum's mybb version ? OR is it phpBB3 ...

You've to ask createmybb3 to upgrade your forum.

Yeah unfortunately CreateMyBB rarely upgrade forums, and I'm not sure if they give you backups of your database (or they may charge for them, can't remember). That's the issue with using these hosted services.
