Good info source for how to change text-box (eg in new thread display) from textbox to pull-down menu ?

Took a look and think it may be a bit over-my-head at this point... but will keep trying.

Am not a developer per_se, mostly a diyr trying to create a website with a simple forum... not that savy with php and css code.

Took another look at your link, and goes through a Googling process (interesting), but not sure which subsequently displayed Google link would be for a drop-down 'menu' for a thread 'textfield' ?
Place to look for that info ?
