Sorry if this has been asked but anyway,i host my forum at trendyhost.com,i never downloaded mybb on my computer they set up the forum for me,but now i cant upgrade well dont know how,still on the old version.My question is i am having difficulties navigating mybb and trendyhost is telling me that they cannot help me i need to go to mybb forums and ask for help,i dont even know how to get my root directory,so how can i take control of my forum and do my own upgrades and plugins and so on even if i didnot install the software myself?

You need FTP/file manager access to upgrade.

If they don't offer either of these you'll have to ask them to upgrade MyBB for you.

Ok i'll check with them and post back.

So i got this response from my host,but filezilla is not working for me not sure if i am doing it right.


Your ftp access is the following:

Host: YOUR DOMAIN.com
User: vehicler
Pass: Your password used to access your hosting cPanel

Make sure the details are correct and you're connecting on port 21.
