How to remove 'index.php' part of the link to the main page?
For example, forum.com/index.php -> forum.com/.
forum.com will take you to the index page anyway without having to type /index.php or am I getting confused?

Yes, it does. But search engines bots will consider that there are two index pages with the same content and they may apply sanctions. Undecided
^ No, it is not two index pages for a search engine !! do not worry about it ..

Wrong. http://example.com/ and http://example.com/index.php are very different things - especially for a search engine. For example, if a user links to a version of a URL and another user links to a different version of a URL, the reputation of the page could be split. You will also see that Google Analytics and such will differentiate the two versions of the URL in statistics.

To prevent this from happening you can simply setup a 301 redirect. Alan linked to a good tutorial above. This shouldn't be confused with cloaking though. You hardly get penalized for this in comparison to cloaking, but it's still worth noting.
^ oh! okay .. Thank You Smile
