I've seen this in other BBs,

Instead of that old fashion "custom title" that is under users' usernames, there's a status, simply from the header the users are able to update their status (or personal message), and it appears on their profile and near their username (when users post something)...

I don't know, it might be a decent idea

Better as a plugin IMO...

I agree I don't think that MyBB are trying to create a Social forum, I believe that the current author of the Status plugin will update.
