Guestbook type things? -Obvs, with comments.
Like if you wanted to do it, just do it like a facebook profile. The profile is facebook and people can make posts and comment on it. That'd be the closet.

Generally I would consider micro bulletin boards anything where the posts are displayed rather then categories but still maintaining those categories. Mybb isn't great at this an example only would be vanilla forum software.

But, Vanilla still has categories. They just have a template that displays all the post on a page (can be achieved with any software).
