Hello guys,
Im using Google EO and in my forum I have url showing like that:
http://www.domain.com/Thread-topictitle
Im thinking in removing the "Thread-" because I think that is better for SEO.
What do you think?
You can't. Consider a thread called "Member Divvy" and a user called "Divvy". Both the URLs would lead to the same place:
http://example.com/Member-Divvy
Bottom-line, you need the identifier attached to the URL.
Each URL type needs a unique identifier so each rewrite rule matches only one very specific type of URL. If you allow the thread URL to match a member URL you have a conflict of interests which can't be resolved by the plugin.
Ohhh I see, thank you guys
Fábio, no, that is not correct.
If I had a thread called Divvy will be:
http://example.com/Divvy
and a member link will be:
http://example.com/Member-Divvy
They are different because member links will have always "Member-"
Unless someone creates a new thread called "Member Divvy" right?
It wont affect your seo , instead of removing thread you can make it it "t" .
It wont increase your seo too.
It is more SEO -
http://example.com/thread-111217.html
I checked in many forums

That's exactly what I was suggesting...
