In the quick reply box there will be an option to attach a picture via either the local host (like the current MyBB attachments) or by pasting an online image link (such as http://www.nakedlady.com/hot.jpg). On submitting the post the image will become part of the left section of the post, like the classic postbit (vertical style). The image will be in a thumbnail and if users choose to click it it will open in a new tab as the direct link. A maximum of one image can be posted. As for the size, this thumbnail will adjust to the size of the post. If a person posts a small text of one line the thumbnail will adjust to that small height but if a user posts several lines of text the thumbnail will enlarge to a maximum height and width of 160x160 (for example).

Hmm, you could achieve this with attachments. It's just a matter of positioning them to the left side and limit the upload to 1 attachment only.

Yes, but sometimes people want to show an image that's online. That's why giving them an option to paste a link is a good idea.
