i want some section of my forum to be accessible for the users who have made certain number of posts on the forums

any comments or suggestions about will be gr8

I personally prefer to make my own groups and private forums and then manually upgrade the members when they make a certain number of posts. That way, you don't have to modify the code AND you can make sure the member hasn't double posted or just spammed a thread to make the minimum posts! That HAS happened on my forum. Luckily, since I'm the only one that can upgrade them, I just delete the spammed posts and tell them what's required to be upgraded.

You'd create a new group, and only allow that group access to the forum. Then all you need to do is add your user to that group.
