It's not under any GPL, I don't think the author will allow MyBB team to use the icons on their future releases.
Not sure about for 2.0, but nice share thanks, grabbed a copy myself to take a look at when i've got some time!
U can use them as long as u attribute somewhere

@ pdtrx: Tbh the fam icons are over-used. Don't get me wrong though...they are good. My favorite fam icons are the Flags though.
We'd just be creating a lot of work for him. How many people remove MyBB's copyright? (A lot) We don't really care about that. Adding another line, which they can't remove, well, we are just making him send a lot of C/D's. That'd just be cruel.
It does not have to be in footer, it can be placed into the readme file. It just has to be attributed "somewhere".
