Recently, I've had a new type of user sign up that all have two things in common; quite long usernames of around 12+ characters and their Location field is always a set of letters in capitals.

E.g

Then, after a few days I think they come back and will spam their user fields.

I feel like a sitting duck, I'd rather not have them sign up, but they can, and all I can do is to react with a ban once they have spammed.

The only thing I can think that might help that I don't already have is Spamalyser?

- most real users are not dumb, try to make the questions a bit hard.

I had all them except for Spamalyser. What about integrating peoplesign in into MyBB?

I need to stop them registering!

I hated peoplesign personally.

I really wish we had mollom but sadly....we do not.

But there is a people sign integration? I've had 13 sign ups + today, something needs to be done.

My hidden catchable is turned on now.

It helped me a bit.

problem with stopforumspam was it caused too many of my members to be refused registration i never quite found a middle ground for the plugin
