1. Grab a fresh copy of MYBB.
2. Download the latest merge files.
3. Create a new mybb db and db user in cpanel.
4. Grant the new db user full permissions to mybb db in cpanel.
5. Install mybb (once finished with install delete the install folder)
6. Backup mybb db before you proceed !
7. Upload the merge folder to your mybb root.
8. Navigate to: www.yourdomain.com/forum/merge
- Follow on screen directions
9. After a successful and complete merge go to your admin control panel in your mybb. (once finished with merge you can rename the folder or delete it)
- Navigate to: ACP > TOOLS & MAINTENANCE > RECOUNT AND REBUILD
- Make sure you recount and rebuild every option.
10. Go to your new Mybb forums and enjoy.
If you have a forum software that is not listed in the mybb merge system, you can always google: converter for xyz forum and convert to a actively used forum (smf, phpbb, phorum etc....) and then to mybb from a supported merge candidate.
