Hey guys!,

I'd like some feedback for a theme I've been working on for the past day or two. I wanted to make a nice minimal and fancy theme. The logo is not finished and the forums I'm trying to finish up now. However, I'm fresh out of ideas for the on/off icons and I'd love if someone can give my some suggestions for them.

How will they know if there is a new post though?

I just think it would go really well with the minimalistic look.

Personally, I don't even use the on/off icons.

That does look quite nice...

It looks nice, but have fun making that footer design work without a plugin

I agree it does need some indicator for new posts. An idea is to have a Google-esque vertical bar highlight: http://i.minus.com/isCZS1BEYrv4J.png

You could also do what XenForo does, bold the title on new posts for emphasis.
