MyBB Community Forums

I have got a phpBB 3.0.5 Forum running and want to switch to myBB.
The same forum is also installed on my local maschine. In order to merge it into 1.6.5 myBB, I updated the former version to phpBB 3.0.10.
Afterwards I ran /merge and started with the database.

My current encoding is "latin_swedish_ci", I tried UTF-8 and 7bitSwedish from the database import options, because I don't know which one is the correct one to choose. Both encodings cause results like that "Wüstenkontinent => W~stekontinent". What am I doing wrong? What is the right encoding to choose?

Also the first time I merged the forum into myBB, all the posts where missing. The statistic about how meany threads a forum has, and how many posts are in it, is messed up as well.

Does someone have an idea, how I can solve that problem?

If you have changed it to UTF8, AFAIK, it should work fine. But I am not an encoding expert
