Will there be compatibility between versions between 1.6 and 2.0 theme or a converter? I ask because the development of a long design for MyBB and I want to know when to stop until you see 2.0 or not ...
In my opinion, myBB will use Twig as main template framework.
That mean. All thing must convert if you want use someones thing of mybb 1.6 (plguin, theme, mod ...)
I 'm using Twig and Yii and have a long time anlylis mybb1.6 core.
ex:1.6 template ( {$index}) -> in Twig ({{ index }})
and soon
MyBB 1.6.x themes won't work with 2.0 at all. Simple as that I'm afraid.
Though the good thing about CSS and minimal markup is they'll be easy to convert.

This. 1.6.x themes will not work, but they will be easy to convert if you have any know how in that area at all.
