My first MyBB theme. All images made in Photoshop and customization done by me fully. I have submitted it, but would like suggestions.

That's what they usually include, that's what I will do with mine.

And use rgba for transparency instead of a solid colour.

No, you used a solid colour, I suggested transparency which can be achieved using rgba.

I've made the changes

background-color: rgba(41,38,38,.8);

Can I ask what the advantage of this is?
