I'm still getting a lot of spam registrations even though I have installed one of the spam plugins to help cut it down.
I use statcounter in the footer of my site to record visits. However none of these visits are being recorded. It's like they are invisible.
Is there a way that these spammers are finding a back door into registering without being noticed some how?

registration security question plugin (remove the default questions set for this plugin)
recaptcha plugin doesnt seem to work at all. why is that? How does the bot do that? My fourm is getting spammed like hell

I did follow the suggestions here
http://community.mybb.com/thread-99893.html and on other parts of the forum but the registrations come in like crazy.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the thread I'm using Statcounter and it's not picking up any of the tragic so some how they are able to register without going through the registrations page
It's most likely a javascript based stat counter. Bots use web requests to register, not web browsers.
There is no way for anyone to register without going through the registration process.
