Full Version: "Forum link" functionality not working?

Hi there,

I am trying to use this feature (from Edit Forum, Admin panel) to advertise a link to a new area of my site (non MyBB)

Quote:Forum Link
To make a forum redirect to another location, enter the URL to the destination you wish to redirect to. Entering a URL in this field will remove the forum functionality; however, permissions can still be set for it.

However, I create a new forum, add the link in the "Forum link" box, but the resulting link is not what I want, but it keeps adding the address of my forum.

Where am I going wrong?

www.autosvezzamento.it/forum (but I have removed the link)

In short I want to add the "forum" blog which will be redirecting to
www.autosvezzamento.it
may be Google SEO plugin is rewriting that URL and is conflicting .. you might need an exception rule for that
Hi ranjani,

can you please elaborate on that?

Are you referring to this?
Quote:Forum URL scheme
Enter the Forum URL scheme. By default this is Forum-{$url}. Please note that if you change this, you will also need to add a new rewrite rule in your .htaccess file. Leave empty to disable Google SEO URLs for Forums.

If so, I am not sure I could possibly fix it...

Thanks.
OK, when I get a forum called "Blog" the link I enter gets ignored and the resulting redirect is:
http://www.autosvezzamento.it/forum/Forum-blog
I have just had a look at the forum more closely, and this problem has never been reported (that I can see)... I am a bit puzzled... I wonder if this feature is never used or whether I am being daftSmile
Ho silly of me... I didn't put http:// before the address.
It is working fine nowSmile
