When I try to do a Database Backup, my browser hangs for a while until Mybb spits out a "2006 sql server gone away" error. This happens even if I try to do a backup on one table like posts.

When I do the backup in PHYmyadmin, the backup download starts right away and completely downloads.

I'm on a VPS account. My server load is low and I don't have any other site problems. Any suggestions?

How big is your forum? It might be better to backup via phpMyAdmin.

It's pretty big. The sql backup file is nearly 200 megs.

By chance does your board have over 100,000 posts?
