Hello, I am not really getting this, I tried the merge option but it requires a database. Since my free host doesnt allow access for some reason, I need to do this manually.

Can I just drop the old PHPbb database into the new online MyBB backup folder?

Also, I made 3 back ups, complete, structure only and data only.

If I only want the posts etc, I should use the data only backup?

your phpBB database needs to exist physically !! you can use a webserver on your computer (eg. XAMPP) ; import phpBB database ;
install MyBB forum ; add MyBB merge system ; run it to merge ; after successful completion of merge , export MyBB's database to use ...
