Where is the skin kept in the lastest MyBB?

What do you mean? The original skin?

It should be in the Admin CP -> Themes -> Modify/Delete -> MyBB Default

If you mean other different themes, you might want to check out, MyBB Design

You can also check out MyBB Mods for some premaid skins.

In the download zip, it is located in install/resources/mybb-theme.xml
