I deactivated the game section to prepare for a mybb upgrade, but then reactivated it to be sure there would be no problems.... and lo and behold TWO Game section links appear at the top of my index page. ALL of the games are gone. I uninstall and the extra link disappears, but... I click the one and it shows this:

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1146 - Table 'purelynu_mybb736.mybb_games_settings' doesn't exist
Query:
SELECT * FROM mybb_games_settings

HELP!! ALL of my games are gone now too! Will this happen to all of my plugins if I deactivate them and then reactivate them??????

It depends on how the plugin was designed. By the looks of it, it was designed to remove everything when it was deactivated.

Unless you have a backup, you'll have to re-add the games.

It's recommended that you deactivate plugins before you upgrade but it's not mandatory.

Try re-uploading the language files from the zip package.
