I've been getting bots signing up on my forum.

I don't know how to stop them. I think they sign up automatically.


I have the MyBB default type in the word box enabled. It isn't stopping them from registering.

If you have MyBB 1.6.5 or higher you can set a more complex captcha with reCaptcha (you will need a key from here).
Admin CP > Configuration > General Configuration > CAPTCHA Images for Registration & Posting > reCAPTCHA

I had to wait a few days to make sure it's working before I say it is working lol. It seems to be working after I applied it. There were a few suspected bots signing up every day, now I haven't seen one for a few days.
