hey guys & ladies

i have just installed mybb for very first time.
i can code php eg csphere/webspell

but im stuck on the basic here.

im trying to see how i get the portal up and running. in settings its up
but on portal page it shows side nav on left but nothing in the middle?
how do i add news content in middle and get the site to use portal as home page?

you can add latest threads from a forum as announcements so that portal page fills up !!
admin panel --> configuration --> settings --> portal settings --> Forum ID to pull announcements from <-- enter forum number(s)
AND Number of announcements to show <-- 5 OR 10

OR you may like to install pro-portal which is more useful and you can have your own modules easily ...
