how do I widen the postbit_author area some on the reksio theme?

it appears that your forum has 180px width for that td area (postbit_classic template) ..

edit, I take that back. I changed the width from 180px to 500px to see how it looked and it didn't change it one bit.

I checked out in chrome dev tools and it worked out well. Maybe reksio uses the classic template on normal template. Change the width on postbit template and see if it works

with the help of ranjani, we got it fixed up.

I had to modify the .author_content css.
