there was a plugin for 1.1.X to do this, where it would strip away all the multi-quoted posts in a reply except for the direct message you're trying to quote. is there something like this for 1.6.6?

example:

would turn into:

I also see it, without any problems.

There is no need for the plugin, its by default in 1.6.x

AdminCP > Configurations > Postings > Maximum Nested Quote Tags > and enter 1 in the option field.

wonderful! thanks a bunch, never knew that option even existed...

I assume this will only affect multi-quotes going forward and not fix multi-quoted posts prior to the new change?
