I have 1 minor issue after moving my forum from the domains root, to a sub directory. The forum shows up on both the sub directory and the forum. Could this be the problem, do I need to change the 2 settings in the picture I am attaching, or is there something else I need to change?

did you MOVE the files or just COPY them? if you copied, the original files are still in the root and can still be accessed

All files have been MOVED. I copied them first, but then went back and deleted them from the root once I made sure the forum was working properly in the sub domain
okay, so are you moving them to a regular subfolder or to a subfolder that is assigned to a subdomain? Your posts are confusing as you switch the wording between them.

if you went to a subdomain then http://sub.domain.tld and http://domain.tld/sub/ will both display the forum regardless of the cookie settings. the only issue would be whether or not the cookie settings support login retention.

I am sorry I probably used my wording wrong. I didnt list my actual site, because im not sure if im actually allowed to, but this is what I did. say my site is www.footballfan.com that is where my forum was sitting at. I decided I want to do more with the forum, and add an actual website to it along with the forum, so I am moving the forum to forum.footballfan.com , hopefully that makes it a little easier to understand.

I went into my File Manager, downloaded all of the forum files to my computer (leaving them on the server still temporarily) Then I uploaded them all to forum.footballfan.com. Once I made sure that the forum was working properly there, I went back to www.footballfan.com and removed all of the files from there, so they are only located at forum.footballfan.com.

Now the forum works at BOTH locations for some reason. I went into general config and changed the URL links on the Board URL, and Homepage URL spots.

Do I also need to change cookie domain and cookie path down below that? Reading beside what they say, it does look like I need to, but something is not right obviously.

If it matters, I havent upgraded yet, still on 1.6.3. I need to figure that out after this issue.

Now Im confused. You are telling me that even though all the files are sitting in forum.footballfan.com and www.footballfan.com is completely empty, the forum will still show up at both locations? Why is this and how can I change it? I want to make www.footballfan.com a website...
