PSDs are not to be uploaded, they're a file format that can be used with GIMP, Photoshop, and maybe some other programs for graphics editing.
Any themes that include a PSD file has sent you their logo, it allows you to edit the text with your forum's name.
But if you intend to replace the logo entirely anyway, it's not needed.

Ok, so if i were to make a logo, how would i put on my theme?

In the themes settings.
Log into Admin CP, click "Templates & Styles", click "Themes" on the left, then choose the theme you want to put the logo in.
Scroll down, there's a "Board logo" option.
Put in the logo's link.
If you uploaded it into the theme's folder, you just have to edit the name of the file at the end to whatever yours is.
